More than 70 of One Dish Kitchen's single-serving recipes are written for this 10-ounce ramekin. Bake in the same size ramekin, and each recipe turns out the way it was tested.
It holds 10 ounces and measures 4.3 inches across and 2.4 inches tall. That's room for a shepherd's pie, a blueberry muffin, or a chocolate cake for one. Readers tell me it's light and easy to handle, and many keep two or more on hand to double a recipe or bake for a friend.

Key features
- Sized for one: Holds 10 ounces, 4.3 inches across and 2.4 inches tall. It's the size my 70+ ramekin recipes are written for.
- A full 10 ounces: Many ramekins sold as 10 ounces hold less, and that's when batter spills over. This one gives a recipe the room it needs.
- One dish, start to finish: Bake, serve, and store in the same ramekin. It's safe in the oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher.
- Oven safe to 500°F (260°C): That covers baking, roasting, and low broil.
- High-fired stoneware: Fired at 2,300°F (1,260°C) until fully vitrified, so it's dense and nonporous. It's glazed inside and out, so it cleans up easily.
- Stacks neatly: A few ramekins don't take up much cabinet space.
- Lab-tested for lead and cadmium: I have our dishes tested by an independent lab. Our latest test found no detectable lead or cadmium.

Use and care
- Wash before first use.
- Safe for the oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher. Don't go above 500°F (260°C).
- Set it on a small baking sheet in the oven. It catches drips and makes the ramekin easier to lift out.
- To broil, use the low setting and keep the ramekin at least 2½ inches from the heat.
- Not for the stovetop or other direct heat.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes. Never put a hot ramekin in cold water, and let it cool before washing.
- Use oven mitts when it's hot.
- For stuck-on food, soak in warm soapy water for 10 to 20 minutes and use a soft pad or plastic brush.
Common questions
What can I make in a 10-ounce ramekin?
Shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie, baked eggs, mac and cheese, muffins, cobblers, crisps, and single-serving cakes. See all 70+ ramekin recipes.
How big is a 10-ounce ramekin?
It holds 10 ounces, which is 1¼ cups, and measures 4.3 inches across and 2.4 inches tall. Ramekins come in many sizes, and a smaller one can make batter spill over, so check the capacity before you buy.
Is this the ramekin your recipes use?
Yes. My ramekin recipes are written for a 10-ounce ramekin, and this is the one I bake them in.
How do I double a recipe?
Double the ingredients and bake in two ramekins, or in one 5-inch square baking dish.
Can I bake it straight from the freezer?
Let it sit out first. Sudden temperature changes can crack a ramekin, so let a frozen one come to room temperature before it goes into a hot oven.
Is it microwave and dishwasher safe?
Yes. Readers tell me they make scrambled eggs in it in the microwave, and it goes right in the dishwasher.
Can I use it in an air fryer or toaster oven?
Yes. It's oven safe to 500°F (260°C), and at 4.3 inches across it fits in most air fryer baskets and toaster ovens. My recipes are written for a regular oven, so check yours a few minutes early.
Does it come with a lid?
No. Cover it with foil in the oven. In the fridge, plastic wrap or a small plate works.
How is it different from the baking dishes?
It's smaller. The ramekin holds 10 ounces, the 5-inch square holds 22, and the 5x7 holds 33. Use whichever your recipe calls for.
